Dialect of a Skirt (Hanging Loose Press, 2010), her first book, was a finalist for the 2011 Paterson Poetry Prize and was included on the Best Books of 2010 and the bestseller lists for Small Press Distribution and The Poetry Foundation. She has been widely published in magazines and anthologies and has worked as a writer and educator for Urban Word NYC, the New York Knicks, and Nickelodeon. She teaches performance poetry and fiction writing at Pace University.
