Marie Harris is the author of five volumes of poetry and three children’s books. She has edited several anthologies, one of which, An Ear to the Ground (University of Georgia Press, 1989) with co-editor Kathleen Aguero, was one of the American Library Association’s Notable Books of 1989. She has received national and state fellowships and residences and, in her role as New Hampshire Poet Laureate (1999-2003), co-produced the first national conference of state poets laureate. In 2003, she was named New Hampshire Library Trustee of the Year.
