Pablo Medina was born in Havana, Cuba, and raised in New York City. He is the author of over twenty published works, most recently the poetry collection Sea of Broken Mirrors. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Poetry, American Poetry Review, Triquarterly, and many others. He has won fellowships from the NEA, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Oscar B. Cintas Foundation, and the Guggenheim Foundation. Currently, he is on faculty at the Warren Wilson College MFA Program for Writers in Asheville, North Carolina.
