William Corbett (1942 – 2018) was a longtime resident of Boston’s South End, before moving to Brroklyn where he died. He was Director of Student Writing Activities in MIT’s Program in Writing and Humanistic Studies. He wrote frequently on art, directed the small press Pressed Wafer and wass on the advisory board of Manhattan’s CUE Art Foundation. Among his books are the memoirs Furthering My Education, Philip Guston’s Late Work: A Memoir, and Albert York. He edited Just the Thing: Selected Letters of James Schuyler and The Letters of James Schuyler to Frank O’Hara.
