Karen Locascio was born and raised in New Jersey. She received her MFA from UMass Boston, where she won the Academy of American Poets Prize and received a scholarship to the New York Summer Writers Institute. Her work has appeared in Amethyst Arsenic, Hanging Loose, Thin Air, Spry Literary Journal, and Window Cat Press, among others, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Karen lives in Dorchester, MA, where she reads on the porch sipping whiskey whenever the weather allows.
